Learn More About Our Community Partners
International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War and Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility are sister organizations in a worldwide medical movement that have shared in two Nobel Peace Prizes – in 1985 and 2017 – for their efforts to address the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons. Both were founded in Boston by visionary leaders who believe that doctors have a moral and professional duty to prevent what they described as the growing risk of “sudden planetary death.” Ultimately, both organizations are dedicated to abolishing nuclear weapons, protecting the environment, and promoting peace as fundamental contributions to public health and well-being.
