Through its signature community-engagement initiative, the Healing Art of Music program, the LSO partners with a health-related nonprofit for each concert, helping the organization raise funds and awareness for its cause. This concert benefits Pathways to Wellness, an organization committed to providing equal access to high quality complementary therapies including acupuncture, shiatsu, and Chinese herbal medicine.
Become a Healing Art of Music Program Community Partner
Each year, the LSO collaborates with four health-related nonprofit organizations, helping them raise awareness and funds for their unique causes through the Healing Art of Music program. Established in 1991, the Healing Art of Music program has helped raise over $1,000,000 for Community Partner nonprofits that aid Boston's medically underserved populations.
The heart of the Healing Art of Music program is the Community Partner’s use of an LSO concert as the centerpiece of a unique fundraising event.
